Scratch Pad Cattery Terms & Conditions – effective as of 12 April 2023

Please NOTE:
By checking in your cat(s) for a booking you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1. Health
1.1 - All cats must be annually inoculated for cat flu and feline enteritis.
1.2 - Boosters must be administered no less than 14 days prior to cats entering the cattery.
1.3 - A current veterinary certificate or vaccination entry in a pet passport, must be produced on arrival.
1.4 - We reserve the right to refuse any cat that, in our opinion, appears to be suffering from any infectious or contagious disease.
1.5 - All cats over the age of four (4) months must be neutered or spayed.
1.6 - All cats must be regularly treated for worms and fleas, and preferably treated two weeks prior to their stay.
1.7 - We reserve the right to;
• check and treat your cat for fleas and worms to prevent an infestation in the cattery.
• refer cats for veterinary attention should this, in our opinion, be necessary.
1.8 - The owner shall be responsible for all veterinary or in-house treatment costs incurred.
1.9 - The proprietors do not accept liability for illness, disease or accident.
1.10 - All possible care and attention are given to every cat in our care.
2. Cattery Hours
2.1 - Operating hours are:
Sundays ONLY from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 10:00 am
and from 4:00 pm to 06:00 pm.
2.2 - Closed for check-in and check-out on New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
3. Fees and Payments
3.1 - Boarding fees are charged daily and include days of arrival and departure.
3.2 - Payment can be made before or at the time of pick-up outside of “Easter-December-January (EDJ)” described below.
3.3 – Easter-December–January (EDJ).
3.3.1 - Stays which include any days from either, the Sunday preceding Good Friday to the Sunday following Easter Sunday, or, 15th December through 15th January, require a 25% non-refundable deposit.
3.3.2 - Easter deposits are required 4 weeks prior to Good Friday, and deposits for Christmas bookings by 31 October.
3.3.3 – December-January booking’s deposit not cleared to our account by 31 October, will be taken as no longer required and will subsequently be cancelled.
3.3.4 – Bookings during EDJ are to be paid in full at check-in.
4. Fees.
4.1 – Effective 1st May 2023 fees are $20 / day / cat.
4.2 - All fees must be paid in full before or on departure except during EDJ as described in (para 3.3) above.
4.3 - Payments by direct deposit to our BNZ account, Scratch Pad Cattery account # 02-0524-0222608-000, must be cleared before arrival. Please allow at least 2 business days for funds to clear if you bank with any bank other than the BNZ.
4.4 - Please enter your payment as follows:
Particulars "Your Name" : Code "Cat's Name(s)" : Reference "Booking Reference Number"
4.5 - Payments at departure may be made via:
• EFTPOS, for debit and credit cards (credit card transactions attract a surcharge).
• Cash.
4.6 - Please Note:
4.6.1 - Cats will only be released once the account has been settled.
4.6.2 - If a cat stays for longer than the arranged period, the additional days will be charged.
4.6.3 - Scratch Pad Cattery reserves the right to charge for the full period booked if cats are collected before the arranged date unless a prior arrangement is made and noted on the booking.
5. Food containers, toys, blankets, bedding & other items:
5.1 - Please remember that we supply high quality food. However if your cat is on a special diet and you supply your own, we ask that dry food is provided in a sealable plastic container that can be stored in the run.
5.2 – Please do not bring anything that you would not like to be damaged or lost. We do try to accommodate most requests, however we are not responsible for loss or damage to individual items.
6. Abandoned Cats
6.1 - We reserve the right to make alternative arrangements for cats not collected within 14 days of the arranged pick-up date where the owner or any emergency contacts cannot be reached.
7. Cats will not be released to anyone other than the owners or named emergency contact(s) on the booking form unless prior notification is given via email, text or phone call.
8. Liability
8.1 - All cats are boarded at the cat owner’s sole risk. While all precautions and care are taken to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the cats in our care, Scratch Pad Cattery is not liable for escaped cats, accidental injury, sickness, or death during boarding.
8.2 - Cats are admitted to Scratch Pad Cattery at the owner’s sole discretion.
8.3 - In the case of death from sickness or age, Scratch Pad Cattery reserves the right to take the deceased animal to your vet clinic.
9. - Owners are responsible for disclosing all relevant information about their cat(s) with regards to behaviour problems, being escape artists, aggression, allergies, disruptive behaviour, injuries and sexual state.
10. - The owner agrees to be solely responsible and liable for any harm or damage caused by their cat(s) during their stay.
11. - Scratch Pad Cattery reserves the right to require the emergency contact person to remove a cat from the premises should the cat cause undue stress to other cats, is aggressive, being disruptive or making excessive noise persistently or has extreme separation anxiety, to our sole discretion.
12. - Excessively aggressive cats will not be accepted into the cattery.
13. Media
13.1 - Scratch Pad Cattery may wish to share images of your cat(s) on our website and/or social media accounts.
13.2 Consent is granted to the use of images or videos being shared online unless explicitly declined.
14. These terms and conditions are in place for the protection of your cat.
15. The proprietors reserve the right to alter these Terms and Conditions at any time.
